1. Further to my letter of 12 December you may wish to knowthat we have received a telegram from HM Ambassador Muscat onthe question of planning permission for the Oman Embassy, whichreinforces the views already expressed.
2. Mr Hawley writes "I very much hope that approval can begiven for the Omanis to use No 64 Ennismore Gardens as a Chancery.They will apparently cease to use the existing residence Chanceryfor office purposes. The Sultan has always been extremelyaccommodating to us over land problems. In particular, you willrecall the manner in which he cut the Gordian Knot over our escortlines project in September".
3. I appreciate that you are full aware of all these factors,and I should be grateful if you would get in touch with meimmediately any decision is taken on the properties at presentunder consideration in Ennismore Gardens.
