CONFIDENTIAL

LOYDON, S.W.1.
23 November, 1967.

Thank you for your letter (1083) of
18 November recording your conversation with
the Sultan.

2. I enclose a copy of a letter which I have
just received from the 1tary Survey. As you
w111 see this does not provide any conclusive
evidence about the location of Jabal Sadakh,
and it therefore seerns sensible to follow up
the Sultan's suggestion and to try and locate
1% on the ground. The 41115ary Survey have
promised to let me have two sets of the rele.
Vant aerial photographs, which they have
available, and I will try to get these to you
by next week's bag.

3. Ellis is already in this country and we
321 try and get hold of him to see if he can
throw any light on this problem.

4. I am copying this letter with enclosure
to Ramsay Melhuish in the Residency and Mark
Marsbal2 in Aden.
