  • A telegram from W P Cranston in Jeddah to the Foreign Office on military developments, including reports on a number of raids by unidentified aircraft on 11, 12 and 13 May 1967, the difficulties of the Saudi Arabian radar system in picking up the enemy aircraft, as reported by the Saudi Arabian Army and Airwork Services Limited at Najran and Khamis Mushait respectively; the failure of the Saudi crew of a Hawk missile site at Jazan to engage two MiG aircraft; the presence of an Egyptian infantry brigade, supported by a tank regiment, at Midi in Yemen; and the inefficacy of conventional and gas attacks against Yemeni Royalists based at Jazan
