This file relates to an operation by the Sultan of Muscat and Oman Saeed Bin Taimur, to occupy Nizwa, the base of the Imam of Oman Ghalib Bin Ali Al Hina'i, which was backed by Britain and code-named ‘Full Blast’. It covers correspondence on:

  • Communiqués from the Muscat Government during December 1955 following the operation, including one describing a painted ceiling found in the Nizwa Fort, with a transcription and translation of the legend
  • Messages of congratulations and gratitude between HMG and the Sultan regarding the success of the operation
