This file relates to the Oman issue at the 16th and 17th sessions of the UN General Assembly during 1961-62. It contains correspondence concerning:
- Arab delegations' plan to raise the Oman issue in the Committee of 17 and possible British tactics (12)
- Possible visit of the Sultan of Muscat and Oman Saeed Bin Taimur to the UN General Assembly. The State Department is unofficially opposed to a visit. Tariq Bin Taimur is not a suitable representative as the Sultan distrusts him (11, 7, 13)
