This file contains: Notes and material collected in response to an enquiry from the Ministry of Defence regarding the agreements by which HMG is able to station armed forces in the Gulf, and the status of these forces. It includes translations of documents from 1934 regarding the purchase of land in Bahrain for use by HMG. It also contains a paper titled 'Position of our naval, military and air forces in the Persian Gulf states' (1-3) Paper entitled 'Organisation and deployment of land forces in the Persian Gulf, Muscat and Oman', prepared by Commander Land Forces Persian Gulf.
