- The termination of the Superior Oil Company/International Marine Oil Company Limited's offshore concession in Qatar and the intention to give similar notices to Dubai and Abu Dhabi
- Shell's interest in the Qatar seabed and its negotiations with the Ruler including the prominent involvement of Abdulla Darwish, resulting in a Memorandum of Agreement signed on 19 May 1952.
