They afterwards landed at a point about
240° 15' N 51° 32 E and made a reconnaissance
beyond Sila as far as the western edge of
the Sabkha Matti and southwest to Battha
and beyond. They also visited Baya by car
and Jabal Odaid by launch.

Many coastal islands were visited
also and landings were made on the
mainland at Mirfa, Radaim and other points
between Jabal Dhanna and Abu Dhabi.
No protest is on record.

2. 1946 Lermitte of P.C.L. visited Buraimi.
A base camp was maintained at Muwaiqih for
a considerable time and the area from Hafit and
across to the western flanks of the Hajar
was covered.

3. 1947-48 P.C.L. were requested by
H.M.G. not to operate west of 520 20' E
or sou thwards more than 50 Km. from the
coast.

Their surveyorsa carried the triangulation
from Abu Dhabi to Jabal Dhanna and a
gravity and magnetic survey was made of
the same area.

The geographical party also completed
the survey of the Abu Dhabi - Buraimi
area and penetrated east and west of Jabal
Hafit. All Abu Dhabi territory in the
oasis was surveyed as far as Shaab al
Ghaf which Shakhbut claims as his frontier
on the west side of Jabal Hafit.

NOTHING TO BE WRITTEN IN

The Residency Agent visited Buraimi
once during the season and the company
established a petrol store in two specially
constructed buildings owned by them and
guarded by two members of the Albu Falah
paid by the company. The store is still
so maintained.

Bird (of P.C.L.) lived in Jahabi fort
for long periods between 1947 and 1949 as
the guest of Shaikh Zaid bin Sultan.

A marine survey party putt in to
Khor al 'Odaid, Khor al Dhuwaihim
and other places and landings were made at
Ras Mushairib and Jabal Dhanna.

No protested recorded.

4. 1949-50 seismic party from
P.C.L. covered a shallow strip along the
coast from Ras Sadr to Ruwais and
established camps at Ras Sadr, Mirfa and
Ruwais.

The Sa'udis, protested. Jedda telegrams
