UK/Dubai Air Agreement

This file contains correspondence relating to:

• Complication in the draft civil air agreement presented by the Political Agent in Dubai D F Hawley to the Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum and possible amendments. It includes an approved set of the letters constituting the civil and military air agreements (1-3, 5, 7, 10, 17)
• Monopoly concession granted by Sheikh Rashid to International Aeradio Limited (IAL), rather than Mohammad Kanoo, to establish Dubai National Air Travel Agency (dnata). It includes the 'Draft Heads of Agreement for the Provision of Management and Operational services' and appendix on wage rates provided by IAL (4, 9, 11-16)
• Attempt by BP to obtain a concession from the Ruler of Dubai for a monopoly on the supply of fuel and lubricating oil to the new airfield (6, 8)
