It contains correspondence concerning: J F Walker’s conversation with the Sultan (27) A R Walmsley’s conversation with the US Embassy about the negotiations (28) Draft ‘Agreed Minute’ between Britain and the Sultan on the measures which should be taken to: counter the short-term military threat of a revival of the rebellion; and establish the Sultan’s long-term authority. In a meeting with A R Walmsley, the Sultan objected to almost all of it.
