This file contains correspondence relating to the Labour Attaché at the British Embassy in Beirut R L Morris's recommendations for social and industrial development in the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman, to be led by oil companies on the model of the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) in Saudi Arabia with the aim of improving labour relations and avoiding a repeat of the recent unrest in Aden; including training local employees to take more advanced roles rather than relying on expatriates and improving access to health and education.
