4. Several tribes inhabit frontier areas between the Trucial
States and the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman. Where the
majority of the tribesmen live in the Trucial States the tribe
is fully described in these notes; but where the majority
lives on Sultanate territory, a full description will be
included in a later set of notes on the Muscat tribes. A
possible exception has been made in the case of the Shihuh
tribe, which lives partly in a frontier area which is yet to be
demarcated; and all the available material on this tribe has

5. Many of the inter-state frontiers are not yet demarcated;
