POSITION.

JABAL KAWA.

From the eastward, the In RUUS-AL-JIBAL. (Sée
range of mountains C hart 2373 - 2837A).
has two principal peaks;
JABAL KAVA, the southern,
5 miles W.N.westward of
RAS SUVAT 5800 ft.high,
with a small notch in
the top. (SHUAID) SHAAM
PEAK, or JABAL- AL-HARIM.
the northern is 6750 ft.
high, with a truncated
or small table top,
having a little notch
in the southern part.

JABAL KHADHAR.

Another important peak A range forming part
in JABAL AKHDHAR, is of the Eastern Hai ar
JABAL KHADHAR, a barren, hills in the Sultanate
rugged and precipitous of Oman but running. -
hill, consisting of apparently, at right
masses of limestone angles to them; it cons piled one upon another, titutes the Western
and is 7500 ft.at the side of WADI PALAIJ.
S.E.corner.4 villages
LAIM, TAIKA, VADAILA &
TAHWA lie along its
eastern foot.Popula tion about 1700 souls.

JABAL KHADHRA.

A Peak.

In MAHADHAH PLAIN, in
the hills of the Oinan
Promontory, at or near
the western side of
that range.25 to 30.

BARAIMI OASIS and RAS 41 - KHATMA TOWN passes
a few miles west of it:

KHADKAT- AL 
JARIYAH.

Rocks forming land narks.

At the northern extrem ity of JABAL FA-IYAHI
(TRUCT AL OMAN) are two
fantastic rocks form ing landmarks.They are
known as ZIBB- AL-`AZAB,
and KHADK AT- AL-JARIYAH,
names of which the mean ings are apparently
obscene.

JABAL KHAMIS.

Name of the range
which forms the tem ination eastwards of
the eastern Tajar
hills in the Sultan ate of Oman.Is about
2700 ft.high, the mass
of it is composed of
limestone, sandstone &
shale. A view of JABAL
KHAMIS is given in
Chart 2383-38.

It begins immediately s.
01 SUR and runs due s.
into JA'ALAN, a distance
of over 20 miles; its
direction is thus at
right angles to the main
axis of Eastern Hajar.
JABAL KHAMIS is parallel
to JABAT. KHADHAR.
