NATURE.

KHARJAH.

A number of knolls.
The knolls form
groups.

Situated near the left
bank of the 'BATIN oppo site RIQA'I.

KHASHI HUSAINI. A sandstone range.

About 15 miles southward
of RAS HUVAI OIL; it rises
a few miles inland, in a
bluff about 300 ft.high,
that makes a good land mark.

A Hill.

ZAINAH.

In BARR- AL-QARAFI, inland,
1 or 2 miles west of
DOHAT HALLAH.

KHATMAT- ASH SHIKLAH.

The southern extrem ity of a ridge which
runs from South to
North.

In JAU, Independent Oman,
a mile N.of KHATIAT-AS SUWWAD.The BARAIMI-SOHAR
route passes between -
this place and KHATHAT AS-SUVWAD. A short dist ance to the east of
KHATMAT- ASH-SHIKIAH is
a low red hill of comp act nummulitic lime stone.

KHATMAT-AS 
SUWWAD.

The northern end of
a ridge which goes
off to southwards.

In JAU, INDÉPENDIENT OMAN,
12 miles E.S.E.of BARAI -
WI VILLAGE.

JABAL KHAVEIR. A high sandhill.

JABAL KHUVAIR.

on the coast of NAJD.15
miles North-Westward of
RAS-AL-KALIYAH, situated
on a slightly projecting
point at the southern
end of DUHAT BU ALI,
which is large and
shallow

JAB AL-AL-KOR.

Is a range of hills
20 miles in length,
which run nearly N.
and s.and has peaks
about 7000 ft.high.
At either extremity
it is crossed by a
pass both passes
are practicable for
camels.

OMAN PROPIER is enclosed
on the N.by the lofty
range of JABAL AKHDHAR,
on the w. by JABAL- AL-KOR
& HADDAH, off shoots of
the Hajar hill system:
on the E.it is not divid ed from SHARQIYAH by any
marked natural feature,
unless it be WADI ANDATI,
and similarly on the s.
there is no perceptible
landmark between it and
the desert.

JABAL LABAN.

A Hill.

The Town of MAKHL possess
es a watch-tower on a
pinnacle of rock, some 200
feet high, and between it
and a hill called JABAL
LABAN is a fort on high
ground.
