Development plan for Saudi Arabia

This file contains correspondence relating to the Saudi Arabian Development Plan published in autumn 1970. This was Saudi Arabia's first attempt to coordinate the future work of all of the ministries in one published plan. It contains a translated copy of the Saudi Arabian Development Plan, including reference to:

• The projected growth of the national economy
• Education, vocational training and cultural affairs
• Health and social affairs
• Public utilities and urban development

• Agriculture
• Trade and services

This file also includes cuttings from the Financial Times relating to the development plan, and memoranda regarding an international forum organised by the Stanford Research Institution, in conjunction with the Central Planning Organisation, to discuss the development plan.
