This file relates to the internal conflict in the Sultanate if Muscat and Oman. It contains correspondence and memoranda concerning:

  • HMG's efforts to prevent publicity of British army movements to Salalah, lest it be construed as direct assistance to the Sultan's Armed Forces against Dhofar rebels or as standby for Kuria Muria [Khuriya Muriya]
  • The Sultan's determination not to accord special treatment to Musallam Bin Nufl Al Kathiri, one of the leading figures of the Dhofar Liberation Front (DFL)
