Muscat: internal political situation

This file relates to the internal political situation in Muscat. It contains correspondence on:

• Measures taken from various reports given on arms coming from Buraimi
• Reports on fighting taking place at Tawi Silaim [Tawi Salim] in Sharqiya
• Confirmation that Major Dennison has been wounded and there have been further casualties after attempting to recover a broken down vehicle between the villages of Ghabi and Mintirib. Aircraft have been sent to Ibri for urgent casualty evacuation. It also includes several accounts and reports of the incident

• Discussions on how to deal with the Egyptian Government promoting another anti-colonialist cause and arousing disaffection among the tribes of Oman
• Confirmation that Sheikh Abdulla Bin Salem Al Ka'abi of the Bani Ka'ab has been selling rifles given to him by the Sultan.
