  • Possible complaint by Sir William Halcrow & Partners Limited Dubai against Arabicon Development Consultants to the Association of Consulting Engineers about Arabicon's allegedly unprofessional methods in dealing with the government of Dubai over a planned deep-water harbour; a letter from H Ridehalgh of Halcrows to the Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum reminding the latter of the services rendered by Halcrows and Arabicon's inexperience; and a reply from Sheikh Rashid citing the conclusion of a preliminary contract with Arabicon

  • Revised offer from Ridehalgh to Sheikh Rashid and a possible contract with Halcrows; and the confirmation of a new contract with Halcrows for construction of a four-berth harbour
  • Successful application by Tajir to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for financial backing
