This file relates to negotiations between the Sultan of Muscat and Oman Saeed Bin Taimur and Pakistan over the lease of Gwadur [Gwadar]. It contains correspondence on:

  • Preparation of an aide memoire, with particular reference to the percentage of oil revenues that the Sultan would be entitled to (1)
  • Summary of negotiations with Pakistan on the terms of the lease (2)
  • Discussions with the Sultan on Pakistan's offer (3-5, 6-7)
  • Update sent to the High Commissioner in Pakistan, on the progress made in discussions with the Sultan (6)
