Delimitation of border between Trucial States and Muscat

This file concerns the boundary between the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman and the Trucial States. It contains correspondence relating to:

• The amount due to the War Department for the loan of survey equipment for work in Muscat from 1957 to 1960, and details of the damage caused to the equipment and the repairs made (1-2)
• An enquiry as to when J F Walker’s maps will be completed, and whether they may be reproduced on a smaller scale (3)
• A request for signed copies of the frontier agreements between the Trucial States and the Sultanate to be sent to London for retention in the library (4)
• A letter of introduction for Andrew Johnstone’s call on the Sultan of Muscat and Oman Saeed Bin Taimur, with the suggestion that a similar letter be supplied for his call on Sayyed Ahmad Ibrahim (5)
• The signed copies of the Muscat-Dubai, Muscat-Ajman, Muscat-Abu Dhabi and Muscat-Fujairah agreements (6-8)
• The progress of the printed versions of Walker’s maps (9)
• The demarcation of the remaining portions of the Muscat-Trucial States frontiers, with Johnstone visiting the Sultan (10-11).
