Claims by Qatar and Abu Dhabi to the island of Habul, 1957

of August 7 and the accompanying letter of August 9 to Sir Bernard Burrows, I described the arrangements of the island 01 Halul, which is claimed both by Qatar and Abu Dhabi. These arrangements made provision of Abu Dhabi a chance to ventilate his claim to part of the Qatar peninsula, including the Qatar Petroleum these proposals were not put to the Ruler of Abu Dhabi until quite recently, (see Sir B. Burrows's letter quarrel was not with the Ruler of Qatar or H.M. Government but with the Qatar Petroleum Company on the grounds
