This file concerns a scare provoked by a report that the People’s Front for the Liberation of the Occupied Arabian Gulf (PFLOAG) are planning attacks on British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) aircraft in Libya and Bahrain, on the lines of recent attacks by Palestinian groups ; and the questions around the legitimate use of force by British servicemen in the Gulf which followed.
