This file contains correspondence concerning the Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi’s suggestion that the container port of Khor Fakkan, managed by the Manchester Liners Company, could possibly host ships from the navies of Western countries. It also includes the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s reply that such a move is unlikely as it would need the approval of the UAE Federal Government.
