Sovereignty over islands in and territorial waters of Persian Gulf, 1957

This file contains correspondence relating to: Ownership and administration of the following Gulf islands, which are claimed by one or more of the Rulers under British protection: Failaka, Kubr; Qaru and Umm Al Maradim; Harqus; Das; Halul; Sir Abu Nu'air [Sir Abu Nu'ayr]; Abu Musa and Tunb; Sirri; the Quions; and Kuria Muria [Khuriya Muriya]. The Political Resident in the Persian Gulf B A B Burrows approves of proposals that Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah's flags should be flown permanently over Abu Musa and Tunb.
