This file contains correspondence relating to: The report of Major R Waggitt on the formation of a Trucial States police force, based on the proposals of D F Hawley, and the role of the Trucial Oman Scouts (TOS); the rejection of Waggitt's proposals by Sir W H T Luce and his counter-proposal for the formation of a small, mobile wing of the TOS based at Sharjah for patrolling urban areas (16, 26) The secondment of an experienced police officer to provide advice to the TOS.
