This file concerns the question of Oman as it was addressed by the UN. It contains correspondence on: Preparations for the meeting in London between the Sultan of Muscat and Oman Saeed Bin Taimur and the Chairman of the UN's Ad Hoc Committee on Oman Abdul Rahman Pazhwak. It includes a list, sent by Pazhwak to the Sultan, of the major points he wishes to discuss (81, 83-84, 86, 89) Committee's interest in the Sultanate's cession of Gwadur [Gwadar] to Pakistan (82) Meeting between the Committee and members of the Foreign Office.

It contains correspondence concerning: Analysis of the voting for 1961 on the Omani resolution in the Special Political Committee and in the plenary, for the purposes of lobbying in the 17th Assembly (31) Brief for the question of Oman item raised by Ghana at the Commonwealth meeting held on 1 October 1962 (32) Information, including on civil development and rebel activity, to assist in lobbying until the 'Muscat and Oman' booklet is ready.
