Supply of arms, 1965

This file contains correspondence relating to: Purchase by Sultan Saeed Bin Taimur of four Cadillac Commando armoured cars for the Dhofar Force with instruction by an American expert on how to use and maintain them. It also discusses Anglo-American competition for the supply of arms to the Middle East (6-7) Visit of arms salesmen to the Gulf and the possibility that the Sultan's Armed Forces may soon start purchasing non-British arms (12) Request by the MOD to replace the Piston Provost of the Sultan of Oman's Air Force which crashed on 22 May 1965.
