This file relates to the political relations between Oman and Iran. It contains correspondence concerning: The private visit of the Sultan of Oman Qaboos Bin Saeed to Iran The visit of the Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi to Oman from 5-8 December 1977 and the efforts of HMG to brief him on issues including finance in Oman, the situation in the Horn of Africa and Iranian forces in Dhofar. It also includes the speeches by the Sultan and the Shah given at a banquet in Muscat and press reports of the visit.
