Penal code and transfer of jurisdiction in Qatar, 1957

This file contains: Qatar (Amendment) Order, 1956 (1) Correspondence relating to the transfer of jurisdiction over nationals of certain Muslim states from HMG to the Ruler of Qatar and the question of how this would affect the rights of non-Muslims. Enquiries are made regarding the arrangements in place for dealing with this in Amman, Baghdad, Beirut, Karachi and Tehran and replies form the embassy or high commission at each of these places are enclosed.
