Training of law students from Persian Gulf in the UK, 1954

This file contains correspondence relating to: Exploring the possibility of educating law students from the Gulf in Jordan if they do not have sufficient English to study in UK. Amman is deemed suitable because Jordanian law is based on Palestine mandate and is very much like the system Britain plans to adopt in the Gulf; there are no law schools in Jordan, there was a law school in Jerusalem under the mandate, but this has been dispersed (1-2) British Council assessment of Bahrain scholar Hussein Mohammad Al Baharna's ability to be admitted to read for the English Bar.

This file contains correspondence relating to: Brigadier Baird's request for a visa for a visit to Ras Tanura at the end of February for purely personal reasons (1) Enquiry as to whether Certificates of Identity may be issued for a journey to and from the United States for a period of 18 months, renewable annually, to stateless Palestinians who have applied for admission to American universities and colleges to continue their education (2-3)
