This file contains correspondence relating to: Reports that Iraq Petroleum Company (IPC) are thinking of approaching the Sultan of Muscat about turning their concession into one of the normal 50-50 type of arrangements (1) Proximity of Cities Service's future plans to the Darbat Ali or Habarut border (2) Route that the IPC will use for supply of their operations at Fahud and in the interior of Oman generally. Various possible routes are given and any objections to them.

This file contains: 1955 Trucial states firearms and ammunition regulation, including drafts, amendments and related correspondence. It is designed to prevent arms reaching the Saudi detachment in the Buraimi Oasis illegally and includes an amendment to exempt imports and exports for the purposes of HMG (1, 3-6) Correspondence relating to the discovery of a Belgian rifle in a Dubai rifle broker's house under suspicious circumstances. Scotland Yard and 'friends' make enquiries to trace its origins.
