Regulations on compensation and pensions for Trucial Oman Scouts, 1961

This file relates to compensation claims by the families of soldiers that died while serving with the Trucial Oman Scouts. It contains correspondence regarding compensation claims relating to: Arif Rashid Ali (Jundi 223) who was murdered by Saleh Bin Saleh. Next of kin: wife, Musa Bint Mohammad Ali Hamid (Jundi 2050) who died in a traffic accident. Next of kin: mother, Fatima Bint Ali Bin Sa'ud from Buraimi Hamad Mussahib (Jundi 639) who died in a traffic accident.

This file relates to the end of British jurisdiction in the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman on 31 December 1966. It contains correspondence concerning: Conversation between D C Carden and Chief Representative of Petroleum Development (Oman) Limited Francis Hughes about the extent of HMG's jurisdiction (1) Need for a status of forces agreement covering British personnel seconded to the Sultan's Armed Forces and safeguards for members of the diplomatic service, following the lapse of HMG's jurisdiction. The Madagascar agreement is used as a template.
