Political relations between States in Persian Gulf and Jordan, 1957

This file contains correspondence relating to: Egyptian propaganda spread by Jordan nationals in the Gulf and a request that the Jordan Government be approached to prevent people who might be expected to make anti-Hussein propaganda from leaving the country (1) Jordanian extremists in the Gulf and the need for a good conduct certificate before visas are granted (2) Jordan's intention to establish a consulate-general in Kuwait and question whether it is agreeable to HMG. Reasons given as to why Britain oppose this proposal.

Jurisdiction over the Trucial Oman Levies, 1954

This file contains correspondence relating to: Sultan Saeed Bin Taimur's preference that Britain exercise jurisdiction over the Trucial Oman Levies while in his territory, but does not wish this cession of jurisdiction to be publicly known (1) Discussion of methods of taking over jurisdiction over Trucial Oman Levies while in Muscat, including an examination of the Aden Protectorate Levy Ordinance. It is suggested that the best method is to amend the Trucial States Order in Council. The Sultan's approval was requested and granted, subject to two provisos (2-5)
