This file contains correspondence relating to: Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Saqr Bin Sultan Al Qasimi's desire that Petroleum Development (Trucial Coast) (PDTC) should give up its oil concession in any undisputed Sharjah territory. It also contains a memo describing and two maps illustrating Sharjah's boundaries (1, 3) Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum's relationship with PDTC, given the uncertainty as to whether they can or cannot find oil.

This file contains correspondence relating to: Efforts of the Ruler of Fujairah Sheikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, to let a mineral concession and whether the interest of a Yugoslav company Elektrusond should be pursued, or whether this might have unwanted political risks (1) Request from the Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Shakhbut Bin Sultan Al Nahyan for a British company to work the mineral deposits in Abu Dhabi. He hopes it might provide an alternative means of livelihood for those, such as on Dalma Island, who can no longer make a living by pearling.

Sheikh Saqr Bin Sultan Al Qasimi suggests reviving the political union between Fujairah and Sharjah to consolidate oil concessions (2) Gibraltar Minerals Company's interest in an oil and mineral concession agreement with Sheikh Mohammad and British views on the sort of intermediaries he should avoid.
