British Residency,

BAHRAIN.

20 November 1967

Your Highness,

You will recall that, at our last meeting, I undertook to
send Your Highness my views on the definition of the remaining
stretches of undefined frontiers between the Sultanate of
l'uscat and Oman and the Trucial States. I now have the honour
to submit my proposals in a series of annexes to this letter.
I should add that I have discussed these proposals fully with
the Rulers of the Trucial States concerned as well as with
Your Highness. The Trucial Rulers have all expressed to me, on
several occasions, the importance they attach to the continuance
of friendly relations with Your Highness, and I am convinced

that, even if a few minor points on the frontiers cannot be

settled to the satisfaction of both parties, this will not in any
way impa ir the traditional friendship between the Sultanate of
Muscat and Oman and the Trucial States.

I should be most grateful if Your Highness would signify
your agreement to these proposals in writing. Since I shall be
leaving the Gulf shortly, I suggest Your Highness write to me
care of the Foreign Office, Whitehall, London, S.W.1. where I
shall be working for the next two years or so.

In conclusion, may I, once again, express my warm thanks to
Your Highness for your help over these frontier problems and for
the privilege of so many pleasant audiences.

I look forward to meeting Your Highness again in london

next summer.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

His Highness Said bin Ta imur,

Sultan of luscat and Oman.
