The Amir Faisal opened the third meeting by expressing histhanks for the map forwarded to him by Sir Rupert Hay and informed himthat the map would be sent to H. M. King Ibn Saud for his views and
instructions.
Sir Rupert Hay stressed that the boundary had been drawn in
consultation with the Ruler of Qatar. He added that if the line was
agreed to it might be necessary to survey the ground and to mark the
physical boundary.
The Amir Faisal said that this depended on H. M. King Ibn Saud's
instructions.
Sir Rupert Hay again pointed out that the claim submitted was
that of Qatar and that the Ruler of Abu Dhabi's claims had not yet been
put forward.
The Amir Faisal then enquired whether Abu Dhabi's claims wereinside or outside the proposed boundary.
Sir Rupert Hay replied that it was difficult to say.
The Ruler
of Abu Dhabi's claims would probably concern his frontier with both Qatar
and Saudi Arabia in this area.
The meeting then adjourned for a short period to enable Sir
Rupert Hay to consult the Ruler of Abu Dhabi concerning his boundary claims.
