QUEEN'S REGULATION MADE UNDER ARTICLE 82 OF THE QATAR ORDER, 1953

THE QATAR RESIDENCE PERMITS REGULATION, 1955
1.-(a) All persons subject to the Qatar Order, 1953, who are residentwithin the territories of the Ruler of Qatar at the date upon which thisRegulation takes effect shall, within six months from such date, apply tothe Political Agent for a permit in writing to reside there.
(b) A permit shall not be refused, nor shall any conditions be attachedto it whether as regards time limit or otherwise, nor shall it be withdrawn orany of the conditions attached to it be varied, without the prior approvalof the Secretary of State.
(c) Any person whose application for a permit under this Article isrefused or whose permit is withdrawn or, having been granted for a limitedtime, expires and is not renewed, shall leave the territories of the Ruler ofQatar within such period as shall be prescribed by the Political Agent withthe approval of the Secretary of State.
2.- a) No person subject to the Order who was not resident within theterritories of the Ruler of Qatar at the date upon which this Regulationtakes effect shall reside in the said territories for more than one month fromthe date of his arrival unless he has a permit in writing to reside there issuedby the Political Agent.
(6) The Political Agent may attach conditions, as regards time limit or asregards the occupations in which the holder of the permit may engage, toany permit issued under this Article and may at any time extend the time
